I know, it isn't Monday, or morning. The title refers to Death Cab for Cutie song 'Monday Morning'. I can't stop listening to it. I'm not entirely sure what it is about the song that grabbed me so much but once I popped I just couldn't stop. Like Pringles, except... not. It is just a guy signing about a girl. Ben singing about Zooey, no doubt. I love it. What can I say? I'm a sucker for romance.

I was slightly upset that Death Cab did not play this song when I saw them in Berlin. I can't be mad at them though, they did play nearly all of my favourites. I guess when you have seven albums you can't play every song (Although I would definitely pay good money to see that gig!). If you haven't already, give Monday Morning a listen, you might just love it...

I have just started writing a new short screenplay which I have named after this song. Unsurprisingly the story takes place on a Monday morning. It is about a couple who are very much in love but completely wrong for each other; they break up, then decide to stay together... then break up again. Nice and happy then!

Speaking of screenplays... a while back I wrote a post about a short script I had written called Imogen's New Best Friend and how I had entered it into a competition held by the International Student Film Organization. Well the competition is now over and my script was shortlisted in the top 5! Go me! Unfortunately I did not win the competition overall, but to be honest that really doesn't matter to me. I am just delighted that somebody who knows what they are talking about read my script and enjoyed it! (and trust me... that bad boy went straight on the old CV!)

I feel invigorated and inspired by this minor success. It gives me a renewed hope for the future. Not that I ever doubted myself, but a little confidence boost is never a bad thing!
